As you go from one community to the other, as people develop in either science or in technology and as they develop in all kinds of ideas, you find that the central issue of conflict is whether Jesus is the Son of the living God and whether He is the only way of salvation! Some of you will be wondering why this particular passage – what does God mean by bringing this kind of passage into the discussion that is at hand with us?įirst, I would like you to know that more and more as we approach the end-time, the issue of conflict actually is the issue of who owns the world, who is the heir of all things? And so you will discover that the main argument the devil has continued to propound over the years IS to deny that Jesus is the Son of God and He is the only Saviour. I would like you to look at the entire passage we have read: there are several crucial issues that we need to talk about. I want us to stop there trusting the Holy Spirit to grant us revelation into this in the Name of Jesus Christ. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.ġJn 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.ġJn 5:8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.ġJn 5:9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.ġJn 5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.ġJn 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.ġJn 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.ġJn 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. And you will see that as we read First John chapter 5 from verse to verse 13 today.ġJn 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?ġJn 5:6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ not by water only, but by water and blood.
So while we continue to establish that, we want to progress today looking at the Guidepost of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as a way for the end-time believer. It must issue out of God, you have to wait on God until it is born out of God into your life, otherwise, it CANNOT overcome, it cannot stand the test of the end-time! Secondly you need to be sure that everything you do, everything you put your feet upon, everything you lay your hands on is NOT a human idea, is not a worldly idea, is not that which came to you because it was flashy: IT has to be born of God. So we concluded by saying that for you as an end-time believer, you need to be sure first that you are born of God. And we did emphasise that whatever originates and issues out of God has the capacity to overcome every manifestation of the spirit of lawlessness in the end-time.
